WELCOME TO THE WEB SITE OF BRIAN HYLAND Hello my name is Brian Hyland, I run a business manufacturing Punch Bar and materials for the production of Punch Bar Show and Breeding Cage fronts for the Breeder and Exhibitor of all types of Aviary Birds, all the fronts are hand made to the highest standard. I make all the standard sizes, but can also make any size or shape front that might be needed. WHAT IS PUNCH BAR Punch bar is a flat piece of metal, 4.37mm wide by 1.02mm deep with holes in that is made from wire 12g or 14g thick, that has been tinned with solder so that it will accept solder when the fronts are being assembled, it is then put through a roller to flatten it to 1.02mm, then it is fed through a set of wheels to straighten it in all directions, and on to a feeder device with a punch attached to make the holes that will accept the wire on assembly. These holes need to be spaced very accurately 5/8” [15mm]or 1/2”[13mm] etc. depending on the fronts being made.
ON THE STAND AT THE NATIONAL WHY USE PUNCH BAR CAGE FRONTS As can be appreciated from the amount of work involved in producing the Punch bar the fronts will never be as cheap as some others, but as can be seen, in the very unlikely event that a joint should give way, the front cannot let the birds out as the wire goes through a hole in the punch bar, so if you are looking for the ultimate in quality, look no further
LOADING A JIG AT THE NATIONAL
IS IT POSSIBLE TO DO-IT-YOURSELF This is the best thing about Punch bar, it is so easy to put together, and with the Jigs that can be purchased from BRIAN HYLAND to set up the fronts before soldering, each one is identical to the next.
